I love Melissa. I think it is a bit dated considering all of the Melissas I know personally are in my generation. I think it is usable for a baby. Melisa is pretty too. I would pronounce that as meh-LEE-sa, but then I would pronounce Melissa as meh-LEE-sa too in certain contexts.

I love the name Melissa. I don't care too much about "dated"-I named my daughter Lindsay two years ago. :) I like what I like and a lot of names from the 70's-90's appeal to me. Melissa is so pretty and I love the meaning too.

I don't care for Melisa as much but it's okay.

Melissa doesn't sounds dated to me at all. It's definitely useable, but I don't see myself using it. The only Melissa I know is an odler woman.

I know tons of Melissas, ten at least. It's a very 80's name I guess. No baby Melissas. I don't know if it sounds dated, but it sounds pretty tired, like Jennifer and Ashley. But it is certainly usable.

I would probably think Melisa is a "creative" spelling of Melissa and pronounce it as such until corrected.

Melissa is such a boring name to me. I knew a lot of them growing up, and the name itself is just BLAH. It puts me to sleep.

I don't like it at all. I think it sounds a bit dated and all the Melissa's that I've met have been really mean. Melisa just seems wrong. All Melissa's that I know is between 15-20.

I really like Melissa, though it does feel a bit 1970s/80s-ish. But I think it's fine to use.

I just hate Melissa because it's too pretty-pretty and it seems like it's trying too hard. I just feel like anyone who uses Melissa must be superficial.

It is dated, but it's still perfectly usable for a baby. I know that Melissa was popular, but now that I think about it I haven't known that many. I seem to remember that there was one girl named Melissa in my high school class (and for my age group it was an unusual name) and that my older sister had a friend who named her baby Melissa back in the 70's.
