Preganant with Boy/Girl Twins!!

How old are you?
My God. The alternate spellings, the 'totally radical' combinations, the trendy alterations...
It's like I've fallen into Name Hell.

Umm that's not really helpful to her at all.
That's absolutely fine, but couldn't you just skip over it? Cause man, what if other people on here like these names, and you're just like "oh my god Name Hell!!"? Is it really, really necessary to say that? What have you achieved by saying that?
What have you achieved by calling me out? Others have said a lot about the name, and they weren't exactly cheering for the original poster's selections.
Yes, but others explained why they didn't like the names. Saying you're in Name Hell without offering any suggestions doesn't help anybody. The only possible outcome is to insult someone. Quite frankly, it just seems like a way to appear "holier-than-thou" because you happen to have different taste in names.
What I hoped to achieve by "calling you out" was to get you to maybe offer something actually constructive to the table instead of just insulting people for the hell of it, but apparently it didn't work.

Zlata is beautiful, but I think it might get jokes if the child lived in the US. :(
I'm going to ignore the fact that you're obviously a troll, because I know you want opinions on these names anyway. But yeah, just so you know, it's obvious you're a troll.
Konner looks silly and childish. I think Connor would be decent enough. Nicolas is nice; I prefer Nicholas unless you have a specific reason for that spelling.
Kimi Nevaeh sounds like a cartoon character. Kimi is silly. Kimberly is silly and dated, but it's miles better than Kimi. Nevaeh is one of those names that seems really "cute" and "original" right now, but I can guarantee you that in 10 years when everybody knows a little Nevaeh and everybody knows that omgit'sheavenspelledbackwardsomghowcute, it's not going to be so fun to have.
Rylan is not my style and it sounds a lot like thousands of other names that are popular right now, but it's not bad. Joshua is decent, but I can never picture a 40 year old Josh. It seems like such a teenager name to me.
Riley on a girl is bad in my opinion. It's just silly. It sounds masculine, it's trendy, it sounds like a million other popular names, and nobody will be able to tell her gender. Juliane is gorgeous; my favourite from your list.

OK, how am I troll for getting tired of everyone looking down on my age? I know what I did and I accept the fact. Ive long gotten over the fact that I am too young and I've become excited. I'm sorry for all of y'all who look down on me. And I'm not too proud of what I did, but now all I can do is focus on being a good mother and that's exactly what I plan on doing. I am actually excited for these babies because I've never known how it feels to be a mother and how it feels knowing that these children are going to be my responsibility. So, all I say please quit criticizing my decisions and try to understand where I come from.
You being a troll has nothing to do with your age. It has to do with your obviously fake story, the fact that you said you have a husband when you're 15, the change of your name, the change of your birthday, and the likelihood of you having boy/girl twins when combined with all these other facts.
You're welcome for the opinions, by the way.

Uhhh
We know your a troll because when someone asked if you were 15, you changed your age (and then your name) in your profile.
If you've really "gotten over the fact that your too young" you wouldn't have changed your date of birth. I see you've changed it back now. You really just need to get your story straight.
I have no explanation as to why you felt you needed to change your name too, but it's still pretty shady.

How is Kimberly dated?
I know it's my name so I may seem biased, but really I'm not a huge fan of my own name. Just I never understand this whole "Kimberly is dated" response to it. It's been in the top 100 female names since the 50s. It still is currently. How is it dated yet? Overly popular/fad makes more sense to me.

I'm actually really surprised looking at the popularity charts for Kimberly. I would've assumed it to decline a lot. The youngest Kimberly I know is my age (17). It just seems like a very 60's and 70's name to me. I guess the popularity charts may differ with this, but it's more of a vibe I get than anything else.
We had a discussion about this once
Actually it was a long time ago, but I remember it really well. Lemme see if I can find it....
Aha! Yay.

Yes I noticed that, that is very strange too. The only Kimberly's I know are my age and up. To meet a little Kimberly would probably be baffling to me. It's so very popular in my age bracket.

[Kimberly has it's fans...]
They're mostly not on naming boards, though, lol. I believe its current popularity is mostly among Hispanic families. Same thing explains the staying power of Jessica, Ashley, Stephanie...
Post 3:
I think that's correct, and it is a common phenomenon among first generation immigrants. Immigrants often want to give their kids "American" names to help them fit in, but they are not acculturated enough yet to be affected by the same trends that native born American parents are, so they choose "American" names from among the names of adults that they know. They don't realize that by doing so they are usually -- especially when it comes to girls' names -- giving their kids names which are now "out of date".

Ah, that was around when I just joined/didn't really go on the message boards much.
Thing is though, it's still being used enough to be within the top 100. So unless you're saying names are judged by only the white population of the United States, it doesn't make any difference. I know they probably weren't trying to say that but that's what those posts tell me. I actually have a problem with a lot of what they said but it'd probably just sound really nitpicky, but yeah, that doesn't cut it for me. If I see a name, I see it. I don't really care about "Oh they came from a hispanic background so it doesn't count!" That just sounds silly, especially because I live in a highly diverse and immigrated area. Why would I really care where they heard the name or why they chose to pick one of a different culture? I'm sure they didn't pick a name they disliked by any means. If I went to Spain, I wouldn't name my daughter Beatriz just because I heard it a lot when in fact I hate the name. I'd probably use one I liked and heard a lot (Well not really, I have Spanish names I like, but for conversational purposes, I would).

I think the point is, it hit it's popularity peak in the 60s. It's been falling, and it feels dated. Yeah, it's still being used, and I'm sure not only by Hispanic people.
But I think that the first-gen immigrants are probably a big reason it's so popular. Another reason might be people honoring older Kimberly's (that's my explanation for several of the dated sounding names that still top the charts). And I'm sure there are some people who use it because like it, but then, there are people who like Shirley and Lisa too.
And a lot of people don't research names. Not everyone's a namenerd, right? And I've met people who really 'don't care' about names and they don't have much they like or hate. It might be as simple as "gee I want my child to fit in, and I have three co-workers named Kimberly... it must be a popular, American name! I'll use that!"
idk. I dunno if I made the point or not. Just because it's making the top 100, doesn't mean it doesn't sound dated. There are plenty of names on the list that sound dated but are still there (Kevin, Jason... everyone's bored of Sarah, but it's still number 20.)

so, your birthdate just changed
make up your mind, are you 15 or 19?
you do not need to be pregnant to post here. the majority of the posters here DO NOT have children, and are not expecting. and no one likes a fake
ugh
Konner, I like spelled Conor. Nicolas is good.
Kimi is childish. Nevaeh is just gross. It's tacky if you spell it forwards OR backwards.
Rylan and Riley are much too similar. Twins are already bundled together so much, why do you need to give them names that are practically the same?
I would use Conor Nicolas and Juliane Riley, if I could switch this however I liked.
eta: Your name has just changed as well. Are you Bobbie or Maria?

I smell a troll now
Unless she just wants to avoid us tut-tutting over her youth.

Connor Nicholas would be nice. But please... Kimi Nevaeh sounds like a stripper, in all seriousness. What if your daughter wants to be a lawyer or a doctor? How will she be given any respect when her med school application reads "Kimi Nevaeh"? Remember, she'll have to wear the name when she is forty-five too, not just three. At the very least, give her a full name like Kimberly.
Riley Juliane is quite pretty, though not my style.
Congratulations to you - and good luck, if indeed you are 15, married and expecting twins.

No one is going to care what her name is on her med school apps.
ah, you are right
I keep forgetting about lawyer Cupcake Brown. Many a person has overcome their ridiculous and infantile names to become fine upstanding professionals.

But it seems to me that Cupcake Brown overcame odds much greater than having a bad name. Wasn't she abused in allo sorts of ways throughout her childhood? Her name was probably the least of her problems.
It's clever, though, how she plays with her silly name, she has pictures of cupcakes decorating her website and one of her books's entitled "A Piece of Cake."

Yes and Cupcake is much more extreme than Kimi N Lastname.
oh my
Didn't hear about all the abuse and such - just heard about her name! :(

I agree. To me, Nevaeh is rather... well... silly. Sorry.
But how about Nevena? Not too different from Nevaeh in look, but an actual, legit name with a saint, a name day and the like.
It's derived from the Breton word for sky/heaven (and also happens to be the Bulgarian and Serbo-Croation word for marigold).
Personally I think it would be the better option.

Wow.
Nevena might not be my cup of tea, but it sounds sophisticated. It's unusual and actually shows some restraint.

I know a guy named James who likes to call himself Semaj.
Lol...at least it's optional for him.
:)
:)
Semaj actually makes the top 1000
and I've seen it on birth announcements... for girls. :C
and I've seen it on birth announcements... for girls. :C
sounds like Sewage :C
Really?! Wow.
I've heard of Semaj actually! :) Susej is Jesus backwards. Seems just as ridiculous to me to spell "heaven" backwards and use it as a name.
Konner is a very awkward spelling. Both Kimi and Nevaeh seem very childish. I like Riley on a boy, Rylan doesn't do anything for me. Rylan and Riley sound too similar to me to really like in the same sibset. Juliane Riley and Joshua Rylan would sound better, imo.
Nicholas is okay. I love Joshua. Juliane is the only female name I'd personally consider usable.
Is there a particular reason for the matching initials?
If I could mix and match...
Nicholas Riley
Joshua Nicholas
Julia Nevaeh
Juliane Kimberly
Connor Rylan
Kimberly Juliane
Nevaeh Juliane

Agreed- Konner sounds like some sort of outcast reindeer.
