Elsa
What do you think of Elsa? Too old fashioned or ready for a comeback? It's a family name and also one of my middle names. But my grandma who has it goes by Elsie and my mother goes by Elka so she'd still have her own name which is important to me.
So what do you think of Elsa? Have you ever met one?
Oh and the sibset would be Noah (girl) and Elsa. The combo would be Noah Catherine Elsa in case I'd only have one daughter. Thoughts?
If I used it as a sibset I guess combos would be Noah Estella and Elsa Noelle. I'm a bit worried that Noah's middle name is too close to Elsa's first name and the other way around but I really love all of the names. Opinions?

I second your thoughts on the fn/mn/confusion-thing.
I love Elsa; it's one of those names I'd use in a heartbeat, especially as it's an honouring name in this case.

I think Elsa is a lovely name. I'd use it.
I like the name Elsa. It seems ready for a comeback. I can't think of anyone I've met with the name Elsa off of the top of my head.
Noah Catherine Elsa has a nice flow. Noah Estella and Elsa Noelle work, but they're a bit too similar for my liking. The good thing is that the names that are similar are not in the same fn or mn slot. Noah Estella and Noelle Elsa would be much more obviously matching. Most people probably wouldn't even notice the similarity between Noah Estella and Elsa Noelle because middle names don't seem to come up all that often. In other words, even though I would choose names that were more distinct, your combos are still doable.

One of my best friends is called elsa!

-Elsa is warm and cozy, but also kind of boring. I'm not impressed by it, really. I think it's worlds better than, say, Martha, or Ethel, but still stuck 70 years in the past.

-No, I have not. It's not as popular here in the States.

-I don't think it's a big deal. Most people would call them Noah and Elsa, so the middle names wouldn't complicate things.

Thanks :) I also like Martha a lot, actually :P
Thanks :) Yeah, many people really hate Noah for a girl, especially where I live. But I love it so much on a girl that I simply must have it ;) I expect some weird comments should I name my daughter Noah but I hope by telling her why I named her she'll like her name. Just in case I'd give her one or two very feminine middle names.
Is Noa popular in your country?

I've met two Elsas (one in her early twenties, the other in her late forties), and I don't think it's old-fashioned at all. It's a nice name, but not one I'd ever consider for a future daughter; it doesn't appeal to me that much. I like the family significance it holds in your case, though.
I don't like Noah for a girl (only Noa - weird, I know), but the combo is nice enough. As for the sibset, I think Estella (which I really like) and Elsa Noelle are too similar sound-wise. Have you considered Estrella rather than Estella?

Yes, but I don't like Estrella nearly as much.
Hmm the thing is that they'd be Noah ESTELLA AND ELSA Noelle so it's not only the similarity of Estella and Elsa but also that of Noah and Noelle.
But they'd be called Noah and Elsa so I wonder if that even matters or not.
It would be like Kayley Rose and Roseanna Hayley or something. I don't know if that's bad or not. On the one hand they'd just be Kayley and Roseanna (or Noah and Elsa) which aren't similar at all.
Hmm just wondering what I should do because I really love Noelle and Estella. It's not that I'm throwing them in because I can't think of anything better it's that I really love them and their meanings as well.

How do you think the names sound together? Picture yourself screaming them at a birthday party or supermarket. By the way, have you considered two-middle name combos? I know some people don't like them, but sometimes I find they help balance out the name. Like, say, Noah Estella Rose and Elsa Noelle Jane - suddenly they don't look or sound so similar anymore. This is just my opinion, of course.
Glad I could help (; Oh, and both combos sound lovely. For some reason the short FN - long MN - short MN sequence seems to work better than its opposite.
I think it's time to bring it back. I think Elsa is prettier than Elsie. I always picture a Jersey milk cow when I hear Elsie - no offence to your grandmother!
I don't really like Noah for a girl but I like Catherine Elsa.
Elsa and Estella do sound a little too matchy for me but that's just my opinion :)

Yeah I also prefer Elsa ;) I'm happy my grandma gets called Elsie, though. I don't want two people with the exact same name in my family, I think it would be confusing.
