WDYTO Sigmund?
Has it been ruined too much by Freud? I really like the sound of it, but does it have a bad image attached to it now? WDYTO Sigmund in general, also?

It had not occurred to me to connect it to Freud until I read what you'd posted. Interesting. I think its interesting and not unflattering. And clearly, for me not overly tied to the man.

I like it, but I prefer Sigurd.

I don't really think of Freud, but rather the cartoony sea monster by the same name. Overall it's an okay name, but I prefer the similar Siegfried.

I can't separate it from FreudSo no. I would assume that any person named Sigmund had parents that idolised Freud in some way. It could possibly work as a mn if you like the sound of it that much.I don't actually mind the sound. It is quite dignified and strong sounding. But yeah- way too Freud. But I'm a psychology student so perhaps I am not representative of the population? I don't know.
