Janet
What do you think about this name for a little girl born today? Personally, I think it is very fresh, and always conjures images of a tiny species of bird, like a wren. I have always loved that.I have always liked the name Janet Elinor. WDYT?

Not particularly fond of it, but would definitely be refreshing to hear now a days and does have a pleasant sound. It is imo a bit "Janet Jackson" at the moment but its ok i guess lol

I'm not really a fan, I find it dated. I can't picture it on a little girl.

I don't like it. It's reminds me of Judy, which is also a dated name.

Janet is not my style. I more like Jeannette Elinor.

It reminds me of "Interplanet Janet" from Schoolhouse Rock; it also reminds me that I was almost named this. Overall, I like the name Janet and it would be nice to see it make a comeback.

I was a huge Janet Jackson fan back in the day, so this name will always get a pass from me. I think it's cute and fresh, just like her.

It does nothing for me at all, I'm afraid. I know too many aunts and former teachers named Jan, Janet, and Janice to appreciate it. I think Janet's time to be cool again is yet to come.I really like the imagery you have with it, though. The name Jeanette gives me that same feeling.

I have always far preferred my own similar-yet-different name, Janice, to Janet, and always been very glad that my parents chose Janice and not Janet. To me, Janet is harsh, while the ending of Janice softens the name immensely and makes it more attractive. Not that I think my name is the best one out there or anything, I just think it's far superior to Janet.I've known many more Janets in my life than other Janices, so I think that Janet must have been more popular.Anyhoo, not a big fan of Janet, it's undeniable that it's dated, but a little Janet today would stand out. But somehow it's hard to picture a baby Janet.

I've always liked it, and think it could be really cute on a little girl. It's always reminded me of a little bird too! That's funny.Janet Elinor is a really great combo! I like how Elinor makes Janet really classy!

I can't really see Janet on a baby yet but it could work. I have a dear friend named Janet (late 30's) that makes me like the name.

Janet Elinor sounds beautiful, sophisticated, soft and kindly.
I like the name Janet even though most people automatically label it dated. It's sort of a bestfriend kind of name: cheerful and ready to help with anything.

My daughter has a good friend named Janet, they're four. It's actually my friends daughter, and it really suits her.

I quite like it - it's simple and sweet and there aren't many of them these days. I am also reminded of Rocky Horror, but this is not a bad thing. :)

I've always kind of had an attraction to Janet. It does have a pleasant sound. And I like Jenny for a nn. Janet Elinor is quite nice.

Re Janet. It's only OK for me. Seems quite pedestrian.
Elinor is one of my favourites.

it's not bad. I hardly hear Janet anywhere these days, so it's refreshing!

Janet Elinor is pretty, I esp love this spelling of Elinor. I must have seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show one too many times, cause I imediately thought of that when I saw the name. :(
