Colette
What are your thoughts on Colette? I just love it and wanted opinions. Do you prefer Colette or Nicolette?
Replies
I adore Colette; it's my favorite girls' name. I've only ever met one, and she's in her 50s or 60s. I really want to name my first daughter Colette, if I can.
I definitely prefer Colette to Nicolette. Nicolette makes me think of that Nicorette gum, and I prefer just Nicole anyway.

Colette is nice. I knew a girl named Colette and she was a tiny thing; no bigger than 4'11". I wonder what happened to her.
It's my name, just with one more 'l'. :)
Colette is a reasonably common name in my area (French-speaking Canada), though at the moment, not for anyone under age 30.
It's a pretty name, however, I think I prefer Nicolette.
Oddly, Nicolette isn't much used;the more common varient is Nicole.

I asked about Colette last week; you can see some replies there.

I prefer Colette to Nicolette; it is enough of a name in its own right. I like it because it is not seen very often (usually, at least around me), but it is still easily recognizable.

Believe me, a lot of me people don't recognize it. :)
