Theodore
I took a little trip down memory lane last night and was reminiscing about all the Dr. Seuss books that I read as a child and it got me thinking about the name Theodore (Theodor Geisel is the doc's real name). There is also a Theodore in my family tree.
What do you think of the name as a first name?
What do you think of the name as a middle name?
Which combos do you like using (using Theodore as first or middle):
James/Jamie/Jamison
Rhys
Sebastian
Oliver
Jude
Lucas/Luke
Liam
Connor
Cole
Jeremy

I really like Theodore. It's been on my list of names to use before, but I run into a problem with it. There aren't any nns I like that would fit an adult. I dislike Ted, Ned, and Theo. I think Teddy is adorable, but only for a little boy. I did think of Rory for a nn, which I love, but our last name starts with R. I think Theodore would be great as a fn or mn, but as a mn would make a combo sound quite dignified.
Anyway, I really like James Theodore, Theodore Rhys, Oliver Theodore, and Theodore Connor.

I really like Theodore. I like how it is very mature, but on a child could be shortend to Teddy, Theo, Dore (I'm pronouncing in German).
I'd use it in first name slot and like it paired with the following:
Theodore James - nice, but bland
Theodore Jamie - doesn't go well
Theodore Jamison - if it's a family name, it's acceptable, but otherwise I don't think they go together well
Theodore Rhys - nice
Theodore Sebastian - nice, but too long
Theodore Oliver - ok, but too many o sounds
Theodore Jude - very nice
Theodore Lucas - don't like the flow
Theodore Luke - better
Theodore Liam - ok
Theodore Connor - ok
Theodore Cole - nice
Theodore Jeremy - ok, but too long
