Nimue
I'd like to know your thoughts on Nimue. Personally, I think it's awesome.

In my "OMG I love Literature and Paganism and should tell the world that by naming my kid something to do with both things" moments, I love it. It's pretty and different and does express both of those sentiments well. But...
..in my "I shouldn't brand my child with my own interests because she could grow up to be a Catholic nun if she chooses to" moments, I think it is a little much.
And when it comes right down to it, I have to admit that a little Nimue would spend half her life explaining and pronouncing and spelling the name over and over again. It's sort of a GP-only name for me. It just doesn't seem to fit into my real life somehow. But it is beautiful.

I like it alot! :)
One of the most mystical, exotic, beautiful names I've ever heard. Wish I had the courage to use it. Maybe if I lived in the UK.
Hate it.
Hate it to death. Am so ridiculously tired of it.
I'm ready to offer monetary compensation or something to hear people stop rhapsodizing over Nimue, Aoife, Saoirse, and Niamh. Seriously.

So do I. It's one of my favourite names. To me, it says 'Gentle but strong and mysterious'

I like it :) It's cool.
It's pretty, although it kind of reminds me of Wimoweh, and now I have that song stuck in my head. :)
I've loved it since I was a kid. I think it's gorgeous, but it's not the sort of name I'd use in real life. I'd love to see someone else with that name though.
I actually quite like it, but I think it would often be wrongly pronounced (although I'm probably pronouncing it wrong, something like nim-oo-way?)
Otherwise, I think it's nice :)

Nope, you're pronouncing it right. I don't think it'd have too many pronunciation issues. How else would you try to say it? Nim-you? It would get odd looks and no one would know how to spell it when spoken, though, which is just as bad.

I actually heard it pronounced NEEM-yoo on an educational video about King Arthur last semester. I'd always pronounced it nim-oo-ay, so I thought it was strange but figured I must've been wrong.
That's interesting. I've never heard it any other way but nim-oo-ay either.
The guy who was prnouncing it was French. That might account for it, then again it might not.
