Calvin and Viola
All of a sudden, I realize these are my two favorite names. I'm not sure why. I was looking through my PNL, and these were the two best names I found.(pronouncing Viola VEE-oh-la)With Viola, I don't associate it with the instrument. With Calvin, I'm not really sure.WDYTO them?

I think both names are classy and I like them.

Viola's nice, but Calvin makes me think either of John Calvin or of Calvin and Hobbes.

I think Viola is lovely but I dislike Calvin

Calvin only makes me think of either Calvin Klein or Calvin & Hobbes. I just can't take the name seriously.Viola has a pretty sound to it; I prefer to some of the other "old-fashioned" names that are popular here.

I love Calvin. Viola is nms for myself but I'd appreciate it on someone else's kid.

Viola seems extremely old to me, and not in a good way. Some names have an old-fashioned refreshing feel to them. Viola just doesn't have that. However I would rather meet a young Viola than yet another young Emily or Kaitlyn.Calvin is charming and ages really well. I like the nn Cal too.

How are you pronouncing Viola? I find I only like it if it is "VY-oh-la" and not "VEE-oh-la". The second one sounds so harsh to me.I also love Calvin. I'm a big Calvin and Hobbes fan :) I like them both a lot, as they are neither overly popular, nor outlandish. Nice picks!
