I have an 8 year old daughter who is called Sofia Eve. I love the name, and believe it to be more of a classic. I think of Sophia Loren who is what? In her 70's? I think it works just as well on her as it does my 8 year old.
As for NN, I really didnt want my daughter being called Soph or Sophie, I dont much like NN at all, but I just felt it took away from the name Sofia, and if people were going to call her that, I might as well have named her Sophie.
She gets called Fia or Fi all the time, that is the NN that will stay with her for life and I like it, even though it was'nt intended.
