I think Apple would be a cute nickname, if you are brave enough to go with it. In France, Apollines usually get shortened to Apo. In Poland its usually Pola or Polonia.

I love Apollonia, it's just recently made my PNL. I didn't like it when it was first suggested to me (by causegirl, as a name for my kitten, Apollonia nn Apple) I think the nn Apple is adorable. I also like the idea of Nia as a nn.

I'm not a fan of it but I have a friend whose sister is named this. She's around 23 and goes by Polly. As for other nick names, I'd say Loni, Nia, or Lonia.
