It's hard for one to judge foreign names. My college roommate had a boyfriend whose parents were German-born. His name was Detlef. When she first told me his name, I was like, "What? Huh?" To me, an English-speaking American, it was weird, but I'm sure it's fine for Germans. I just can't judge it the way a German would be able to.
