Sydney (wdyt?)
I've been liking the name Sydney recently. I don't know why -- it's much trendier of a name than I normally like. I doubt I'd use it for a child, but I'm curious - what are your opinions of Sydney?
ETA: I mean that I like Sydney for a girl. I have never much liked Sidney/Sydney for a boy.

I prefer it on a boy, it's my doctor's name
Well one of them there's a couple at my office, I haven't seen him since I was really little. He must be around sixty now. He spells it Sydney, but I like it either spelling. I don't mind it on a girl but it's not my style.

I have a nephew named it, it's great on a boy, hate it on a girl. All I can picture on a girl is an old man with argyle socks pulled up past his knees. Very old-mannish.
It's a place to me, and the place where i live.
Do you like, Sidonie/Sidonia?

I've never liked it. I have always found it too cutsey and not in the least bit attractive in sound.
I like Sydney. There is something sunny and positive about it.
I love it for a boy spelled either way
I meant for a girl - should have clarified
