I love Eleanor, but I find Eleanora to be an unnecessary and frilly elaboration. I love the nn Nora for Eleanor, so of course it would work for Eleanora too.

Yes, I totally get the elaboration thing from your point of view but I think you can't name your child Eleanor in Germany because especially old people wouldn't know how to pronounce or spell it ;)

If that's the form of the name that would be used where you live (which I now know is Germany), then I guess that's the way it'd have to be and it wouldn't be an unnecessary elaboration then! :)
