Arachne!

I like it but I wouldn't use it except for maybe a pet or plant.
I don't like the severe sound of it. It reminds me of the planet Arrakis from the Dune books. If you wanted to honor a love of spiders, there is always Arania.

I like it, but unfortunately, the ending sounds like "acne."
It's a cool name and sounds nice, but I think it would be bad on a real child, esp. with the word "arachnophobia".
Arachne is okay...I think it might make a good middle name, or a first name for someone in an area where Greek Mythology is not taught.
Too spidery
I know it's spidery. It means 'spider.'
I just love the sound and meaning. :)

I understand that you like the way it sounds, I do too. However, if we are talking in the realm of actually naming a child it, I wouldn't do it.
I would never actually name a child this. Definitely for a story character though.
