I like Rachel, though I don't love it, and it's not a name that I would have considered using, since there a lot of names that I like more.
I myself never put Rachel and Hannah in the same category, since I like Rachel and hate Hannah, but I can see why you would, since they are both old Biblical names.
I think that as it leaves the top 100 it will be dated, but still in a different category than names such as Heather are, because Rachel is classic while Heather isn't. The same way that Deborah is dated just as Linda is, but Deborah is still a classic, while Linda isn't.
I've never personally known a Rachel. I know OF a Rachel, but I've never met her. She's my first cousin once removed, the daughter of my first cousin.
