Dal, or Dally when he's little. It's sounds like he could be a viking or a barbarian. Dalibor the Barbarian. I mean, not in a bad way or anything...

Don't care for it. Unattractive sound. Dali is the only nn I can think of.

My first thought was that is looks/kinda sounds like "dabbler". It has a nice strong sound and it's eager add it to my list of "potential fantasy novel character" names, but its not going on my, "oh, I could use this for a kid if I ever have one!" list.
