It's okay, but I prefer Allison.

It is just a surname to me and I don't find the sound of it to be particularly appealing anyway.

First off, I love modern, uncommon/unused names. Addison isn't one of those. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. It's horrible, really horrible.

I dislike it. But it's also my nephew's name, and I love him. I just think the name is horrid. On his case, it is named as his father's name is Adam, and Addison means "Son of Adam". It's tolerable in this condition, but otherwise, just ick.

Is a diseasehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Addison%27s_diseaseIf you like this vein of naming, I also heartily recommend Hodgkin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hodgkin%27s_lymphomaor perhaps Harlequin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harlequin_type_ichthyosisor Rubella http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RubellaYes yes, Addison was a surname first. And by all means, use it if you have an Addison in the family tree to honour. But be forewarned about the disease connection. I would have been mortified to learn there was an illness with my name as a child.

Yet people still use them, it's not that bad IMO except for Candida which is a yeast infection (eh) so that's the only name unusable IMO.

I dislike it, regardless of gender. It just doesn't do anything for me.

I like it on a boy. On a girl, it's trendy and awful. It also makes me think of the disease, which is why I couldn't use it for either.

I think it's ridiculously trendy...Especially on girls.

I really dislike it on both gender, ecspecially girls.

It's a sort of GP of mine on a girl. I just love how it sounds, but I dislike the "son" part.

On a boy.
It's unusual and not TOO different in this day and age. :)No so big on a girl, but it could work.
