I know several Pias born in the 1980's so for me, this name is dated (but I think it's kind of preparing for a little comeback in Europe).

This is one of the names I never liked. But then again, I'm not into these ultra-short three letter names in general. Mia, Lia, Nia, Sia are all kind of "syrupy" to me, pale names covered in sugar. Pia, on the other hand, is rather a pale name covered in sugar and salt, if I make any sense here.
I don't think Pia will become as popular as Mia and Lia, simply because it's not sweet enough.
And yet, of all those -ia names, I like Pia the best.
