Celeb Baby
It’s official! Though she remained mum over the last nine months Jennifer Hudson is, indeed, a mom.
The 27-year-old Oscar-winning actress and Grammy-winning singer welcomed son David Daniel Otunga Jr. on Monday, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.
“The baby is beautiful and perfect,” says Jennifer’s rep Lisa Kasteler. “His parents are ecstatic.”
David weighed in at 7 lbs., 14 oz. at birth and is the first child for Jennifer and her fiancé David Otunga. The couple kept the sex of the baby a delivery surprise.

I may not like the name, but I do commend her for going with something traditional. I especially like that it was honoring the father.
It's nice to see a celebrity use a normal name. I'm not a big fan of juniors, and I wouldn't put those names in a combo, but David and Daniel are both solid names.
David Daniel is great! At least it's normal! I LOVE it!
At least she didn't name her baby something too out there, but David Daniel just don't go together that well in my opinion.
At least it's normal.
I like it. Sure it's a bit bland, but I think it's a nice combo and I love David.
*snores*
The thing about celebrity babies is that the vast majority of them will never have to get a 'normal' job or grow up in a 'normal' world, so they can afford to have somewhat off-the-wall names without as many inconveniences. I don't like Bronx Mowgli sort of names, but I actually find names like Tallulah Belle and Hopper Jack pretty cool. It's like someone gets to use your GPs for you. David Daniel Jr. is just boring. I'm glad the name has meaning to them, though.

I agree
Nice to see a celebrity using a totally ordinary, non-attention-grabbing name for their baby, even if it is a Junior.
I agree it's nice to see a celeb who doesn't use naming their kid as a publicity stunt, but this name is so boring! Isn't there a just middle ground in between David Daniel Jr. and Pilot Inspecktor?

Agreed, but I think it is permissible to be tastefully attention-grabbing
...which to achieve actually all one need do these days IS choose a normal, classic name instead of a Bronx Mowgliesque monstrosity.

I agree 100%
People say it's boring when a celebrity gives their baby a normal name, but I'd much rather be David Jr. than Englebert Romanov Wizzleteeks, or some such nonsense.
