French Version
No offence to anyone, but I hate the name Agnes. It sounds so harsh and oldladyish to me. But in France Agnes isn'y pronounced 'AG ness' but
'an YESS'
Does anyone else think it's pretty?
I would never use it because it's spelled the same and would be pronounced AG nes all the time.

I love the French form and pronunciation. It's softer and I find the sound more pleasing. I still like Agnes in English though.

I think it sounds prettier than AG-ness, but I still don't love the name and probably never will.

By the way, what do you think of the Frisian form(s) of Agnes -
Anjes (an-yess), Anyes, Anyesse, Anjesse or Anjet (an-yet)?

I like it pronounced the swedish way, it's something along the lines of "Ung-ness" or maybe ahng-ness..

I like an-YESS, but I still hate the look of the name.

I love Agnes in all of its pronunciations and in most of its variants ;)So, yes, I think Agnès is really pretty.
