Saffron
Hi, I was just wondering what you all thought of Saffron for a girl? Thanks, Leigh

It's one of the few word names I like. There's the fancy spice, but there's also the beautiful warm colour.

Don't like it. I think it was the Ab Fab daughter name because it sounds so ridiculous - Saffron is a very expensive gourmet spice, so it sounds floofy to me like one of those "bling" names, like Armani, Silk, Diamond, Lexus etc.

It bothers me slightly that it ends in the masculine sounding 'ron' but I still like it. I like it paired with a very traditional middle name.

I really like it.
I don't usually like such modern names (except for Amber and Willow) but I have a really soft spot for Saffron. It conjures up a beautiful colour, and is a spicey and spunky. It was used occasionally in the Victorian era during the flower name craze (because of the Saffron Crocus) so that gives it "respectability" in my eyes.

It's a GP of mine. I love it, but I can never think of an mn.

All I can think of is the daughter from the TV show "Absolutely Fabulous" (Saffron nn Saffy). I do like the sound and the fact it's uncommon but not too "out there", though.
