Martha and Cassandra
Just curious as to opinions on these.
Martha is a new love, though I'm surprised it's taking me this long to put it on my list. It has everything I'm looking for - the M sound, biblical, used consistently, classic, earthy. Cassandra is an old one that I'm half liking, half not. Of the two I'm far more likely to use Martha than Cassandra.
Thanks.

I love the name Cassandra after years of liking only Cassie.
I am not a fan of Martha at all. It's too old-fashioned and not in a good way for me. I just picture Victorian servant girls or farm girls or something. But that's probably just me! However, it has made a comeback here so I think it could be on the way up in America as well.

I love Martha. I think it is so sweet and homey and definitely about ready for a comeback. Cassandra is a name I have never been able to like and there is no really good reason for it. I like the similar Alexandra and Alessandra but Cassandra just sounds prissy. I hate the nn Cassie as well which kind of seems inevitable.
Cassandra is nice, but it doesn't have that wow factor or that beauty that Martha has! I've known three Marthas, one who was in her 40's who went by Marty, one who was in her twenties who went by Mimi or just plain Martha, and one who would be about 6 now who was nicknamed Marley. So, really cute to me!

I love Cassandra. It has that delicious magic and mystery around it. I hate the nn Cassie, though; Cassandra nn Andra or Cassandra nn Cassa is a little lighter without making it boring or trashy.
It's harder for me to like Martha since I tend to go for bolder, maybe flashier names, but I really love how warm and earthy it is. If you want to use it, go for it! It's definitely a solid, just nice name.
Good choices, both of them.

I agree with you.

Not where I live it's not. We have alot of Cassies on babies but no Marthas. But that's just my opinion.
