Sahra and Sarha. The two preferred spellings of my name by my great grandmother. For some reason she just never gets it right....

Because there totally needs to be MORE confusion there....My birth name is Sarah. I very strongly detested constantly having to say 'No, with an H' *every* time someone needed to write my name. So much so that I no longer go by Sarah. (Well, along with local pronunciation issues.) We do NOT need another bloody variation on Sarah, and honestly it looks like someone mistyped.

I'd assume anyone with that spelling was from a Middle Eastern, or maybe Indian background. I think it would look a bit contrived on anyone who wasn't.

It looks like you mispelled Sahara to me. I'm not a fan.

I dislike it if it's pronounced as Sarah/Sara. If it's pronounced sar-uh insted of sair-uh, it's slighty better.

I would pronounce Sahra differently. I would think it should be SAH-rah instead of SER-ə but I just looked up Sara/Sarah and found that some people prn them as SAH-rah. I have never heard it said that way here though. I like the look of Sahra and I like that it makes the desired prn. clear.

I like it but I have known it for a while, so I'm used to it.
I would use Sara, Sarah, Zara or Sahra only depending on how well LN and MN / FN go with it. Sahra just looks better with some names than Sarah, imo.
