Sage
I was named Sage after a great great grandmother who came to America from Wales. I have loved it over my 58 years and have felt blessed to have great historical name to try to build my life around. Incidentally, the Latin term for Sage is " Artemisia" and there were many women from Wales and England named Artemisia. My great great grandmother's line of ancestry has several 'Artemisia's'... so I believe someone translated the name. Even prior to that was the great Italian Baroque female painter Artemisia Gentileschi. (1600's) I always thought that it was interesting that people thought 'Sage' was a western name invented by a well known Western author.

I love Sage! Artemisia is cool too, but it and Artemis are names I probably wouldn't use on a person (as a fn at least.) I knew there were plants called Artemisia; I didn't know itwas Latin for Sage though. Cool.
