If I remember correctly, I think 'Υακινθος is pronounced YAH-keen-thos in Modern Greek. Hyacinthus is Latinized. Anyway, I like Hyacinthus, but I'm not wild about its English pronunciation either. I think it would be difficult to get people to pronounce it in any other way because of Hyacinth.
The only longer names I can think of with that sound are Biblical like Jeremiah, Malachi, Zachariah, Zechariah, Hananiah, Hezekiah, Jedidiah, Nehemiah, etc.
