I like Hyacinth for a boy:-) It's a male noun in Croatian so I can't imagine it on a girl (same for flower Jasmin)
Hyacinthus seems a bit too complicated for an already unusual name. But I do prefer the 'Hye-uh-KIN-th' pronunciation, never thought of it before!
I like Lindy as a nickname for Linden. There's also Lindberg, Lindell, Linder, Lindhurst, Lindley, Lindsay (which I only like on a boy, Linford.
