Enid
I am interested in some feedback on this name. I am not specifying whether I like it or not. What sort of feelings does it give you? Do you think it is usable? Revivable? Can you envisage a little Enid?

I think it's lovely and definitely usable.

One of my close friends when I was a kid was named Enid, so I've always loved it and never seen it as strange. I've never seen it as being particularly unusable or anything - she seemed to get along fine.

I think Enid is really really sweet, and I feel a little Enid would fit in fairly well with her peers. It's one name that has such a positive, almost happy feeling to it!

I like Enid, and I'd thoroughly enjoy the name's revitalization.

Okay, thanks, because...I am currently a bit infatuated with the feeling I get from this name. It's like she is Ingrid and Astrid's more edgy younger sister. I currently also favor it over Winifred, and probably any other -id name I am not mentioning.Admittedly I have always loved the name, even when I was quite young, because it reminds me of a cute little wren or some sort of tiny bird's name. That's the feeling I get: very positive and spunky.

It's merit is its link to Arthurian legend, but I don't like the -id part; I know that Astrid and Ingrid have a similar ending but that E- start too makes it quite unattractive to me. I class it with Edna and Edith as frumpy and unappealing. Still, if Edith can rise again (as it seems to be doing, slowly), then never say never for Enid...

hmmm im going to disagree with the other comments made on the name and say that im not so much a fan. although i do love the meaning, when i think about it for some reason it sounds like a little girl who would be in a scary movie, or it sounds like it would belong to an elderly woman. i cant really see it being used for anywhere between a 5 year old and an 80 year old. i dont think it'll be revived any time soon.

I really like Enid. It's not the type of name I usually go for, but I like it. It sounds like the name of a free-spirited girl who makes no apologies for what she does or how she lives.

I like Enid. Great meaning. It reminds me of Edith which I like a lot. I can imagine a little Enid. In fact I think a friend of mine has a niece by marriage called Enid(her sister is Anais).

I have a character named Enid, a 15 year old girl. I do think it's usable and I can picture a little Enid.

I like it. It sounds strong and intelligent. But I don't think it's going to be revived anytime soon... it doesn't have the same feel (for me at least) like some of the other revived names. I think it'd be very cute on a little girl. There's a song by the Barenaked Ladies called "Enid."

I love Enid. It's a sharp, no-frills name, but yet so intelligent-sounding. I think it should and can be revived. Yes, I can evisage a little Enid.Enid Susannah would be a smashing combo.

Oh, yes. I do like that combo.
