Very pretty name!

I like Cecilia for the sound, but I think it seems a little frivolous with all of the vowels. It's a nice name, though, and it would probably work well throughout a person's life. Celia works well as a nickname. CeeCee is the only other one I can think of.

It is so pretty...makes me think of an elegant yet sporty girl. Celia is fine as a nn for Cecilia. :)

Love it. Cecilia is nice. Celia seems a bit fussy.

Love the song, hate the name. It sounds shrill and whiny.

I love Cecilia and enjoy Celia as a nickname. However, I prefer Cecily to Cecilia.

I love Cecilia, it's a very sweet name. My best friend picked it as her confirmation name. I'd probably end up calling her Cecile if I named my daughter that. I prefer Cecilia slightly more than Cecile, probably due to the Italian in me.

I've always thought it was a pretty name. I also knew a Cecilia who went by Ceci (pron. C.C.). Celia is a great nickname.I'd say the only drawback is the Simon and Garfunkel song (Cecilia, you're breaking my heart...)

I love this name, i wish i was brave enough to give it to a daughter if i have one, but i think as a teen at least, she wouldn't like it.Celia is nice, i know a Cecilia who goes by C.C. (but her last name is a C name as well) but i really like Cissy or Cila. Hope this helps :D

Why do you feel a daughter would hate this as a teen? I think most teens want to be be unique while also fitting in the crowd. A name a way to be unique. I know teens that changed and insisted on being called something more interesting than their given name. I think this is a perfectly lovely name and you should use it. I like the nns Celia, Celie, and Cila is ok but makes me think of Scylla and Charibdis from the Odyssey which were giant monsters. I do not like C.C. but you could use it because there are 2 Cs in the name. Cissy reminds me of a sissy person and it rhymes with prissy which would be a quality I wouldn't want someone to have.
