Elena
how do you pronounce it?
Replies
eh-LEH-nah
Instinctively, ye-LEH-na
But that's because the first Elena I ever knew was Russian.
I've also met an el-LEH-na, ELL-e-na, and el-LAY-na.

Am I the odd one out?
I instinctively want to pronounce it El-EE-nah.

eh-LAY-nuh
ee lay nuh.
uh-LAY-nah
el-AY-nah
or eh-LAY-nah, even though to me there's not much difference between the two.

eh-LEH-nah

Ditto
I say it a cross between el-LAY-nuh and el-lENN-uh. That's just the way I prefer it pronounced. I think it's prettiest in something like a Ukrainian accent.
EL-en-ah
ay-LAY-nah:
e-len-a
The girl I know called this pronounces it e-len-a. Like Ellen with an a on the end.

eh-LAYN-ah,
Same.
Yep, this
I have no idea how it's supposed to be pronounced, but that's how the only little Elena I've ever known said her name, so thats how I say it now.

I say no text, but it doesn't let me post a msg if there really isn't any text.
