I adore Mercy :-)

It was very nearly my youngest sister's name. She was going to be Marguerite or Mercy. I don't think it will make the top 1000 in a hurry. It doesn't really fit any current trends well enough for the celebrity power to propel it and Madonna's kids aren't the most high profile in Hollywood. Lourdes never jumped massively because of Madonna. I like it in either the fn or mn position. My Dad and his partner had the combo Mercy Primrose picked out for awhile and I really loved that. A few favourites of mine have always been Mercy Clementine, Susannah Mercy and Mercy Avigail. It doesn't have religious associations to me. I would consider it as a fn or mn for a child of mine and I am an atheist. I think Mercy is a virtue that one should aspire to, religious or not.
