lol its a lovely name. Gaius is nice too but it just sounds kind of awkward to me and even though I know how its pronounced it still has that look of gay at the start of it to people who wouldn't pronounce it properly and that bugs me some how.

I like Caius. Gaius makes me think of throat flem, unfortunately, for for reasons that are unknown.

I'd go with Caius, and thats simply based on the fact that if someone were to be named gaius, despite the correct pronunciation, theyd get called gay-us, which as you can imagine will only lead to teasing.

I know how Gaius is pronounced but I think you are kidding yourself if you think the kid isn't going to get teased for it (which sucks, but that's life). People will mispronounce it as gay-us and little kids will see the 'gai' and say 'gay'. Caius is much nicer and also avoids the obvious teasing potential.

- and this is coming from someone who will usually argue that it is only in very rare circumstances that a kid will get teased for their name and will usually advocate overlooking most potential teasing issues. I went to school with a Gaia. She got teased quite a bit in early high school. Everyone outgrew the teasing but it did happen and she still dislikes her name because of it. Gabriel on the other hand, while having the actual work 'gay' in the pronunciation never got teased.

Gaius just because Caius was always supposed to be Gaius. Romans were just too lazy to carve the G lol. But anyway I would prefer Gaius as well.

I like both. They both look good, and they both sound good... the main difference to me is that Caius sounds younger than Gaius. If I had to use one in real life i would use Caius.

Caius! I just find Cs much, much more attractive than Gs. Caius sounds very elegant to me while Gaius just sounds clumsy.

Caius. Cai's a cool nickname. Gaius doesn't sound remotely attractive to me personally whereas Caius sounds quite attractive. I much prefer Guy to Gaius. Guy is cool. Gaia, however, I really like.
