I don't like Charles anymore. I can't tell you why. I have no clue. Carl is calm, grounded, unpretentious, wise, approachable, ancient. I don't like to admit that my opinion is colored by good associations, but I do think I would like it better on its own.

Besides, whenever my taste will permit, I like to prefer less-fashionable things; Charles is kind of In, especially in England; Carl's out. That appeals to me. Call me hip.
