Eliza
I am really starting to like this name. What do you think?

Very sophisticated, and one of the few nicknames that can actually be used as a name itself. Often times 200 years ago wealthy families would use this name instead of Elizabeth.

I never used to like it but I recently met a sweet kingergartener named Eliza and she changed my mind!

I think of the character Eliza Doolittle from "Pygmalion"--but that's a good association! It's much more refreshing than another Elizabeth. Short and sweet. I also think it has much more spunk.

I think it's one of those classic girl names that are becoming new again. I love those types of names. I much prefer Eliza over Elizabeth because it seems to have more of younger, edgier feel to it.

I use it quite often as a MN when people ask for combos. I like it but I'm not overly keen on it. I prefer Elizabeth which is the full form.

I love everything about Eliza. Its look, its feel, its sound. It is one of the few names that is, in my eyes, perfect. It is, also, one of the many names DH has vetoed. *sigh*

I strongly dislike it. I just don't like the look or sound of it. The EYE-za part really ruins it for me.

I think it's cute, and it also has a fantasticly simple feel to it that makes me picture a pioneer girl.

I love Eliza as a name on its own as well as a nn for Elizabeth.

Very nice! I really like it. A personal association has somewhat soured my view of Elizabeth, but Eliza retains its old-fashioned, fresh-faced quality.
