Kip and Kit

LOL! That's hilarious!
I love Kit as a nn for Christopher! It's so so cute!
Kip also could be used as a nn for Christopher because it has a P in it! :)
Kit could also be used as a nn for Christian or Crispin. Hey! Come to think of it Kip could be used for Crispin too! :)

I like Kit better for a girl, I think, but it's fine for a boy. Jodie Foster (nee Alicia Christian Foster) has a son named Kit. I've never heard whether his formal name is Christian. I suppose it could be to honor Jodie. Anyway, I see Kit as a unisex name. Kip, otoh, I've also heard of as a nn for Christopher/Christian. I can't say I like it as well. There was an 80's/90's rock singer named Kip Winger. I don't know if Kip is his nn or not.
I think they are both nice nicknames. I'm not sure what they could be nns for although I like your idea of Kit for Christopher. One of my friends has a good friend named Kit and I don't know what his real name is but I think Kit fits him well.
As for Kipling, I dislike it. Maybe you could use Kip as a nickname for any boy's name with a K, like Kyle or Kevin.

Since I like Kip as a nickname for Christopher (I know a Christopher "Kip"--he's a really nice guy), I'd have to say no. They're the same name to me.
Also, they sound a bit too much alike.

Get into the car
We'll be the passenger
We'll ride through the city tonight
See the city's ripped insides
We'll see the bright and hollow sky
We'll see the stars that shine so bright
The sky was made for us tonight

I actually like Kip as a nickname for Christopher. (Or maybe Kristopher, which I reluctantly admit to liking better.)
Kit doesn't appeal to me at all. It reminds of "gym kit" lol.
Kip could also be a nickname for ...
Crispin / Crispian
Casper / Kasper

Both sound "artificial" to me, maybe because I'm French? I wouldn't use any of them.

Kit reminds me of kitten or kit kat or just a nick name for katrina or something... and kip reminds me of napoleon dynamite. :-( Kiplings sounds like something you'd put in soup or like some type of baby animal. Sorry for being harsh, but thats only my opinion.
I can't really think of any names besides Kipling either... PP had a good idea with the initials though.
I think they are really cute NN's and that they don't neccesarily have to stand for anything. I mean, really, what does bubba or buddy stand for? We call my brother Bubba as NN for Jordan. I think they are just cute and fun.
I also think Kit could be cute for a little girl. It reminds me of A League of Their Own.
Your eyes, your smile, made my little life worthwhile. The sky was a lot more blue when I was on top of you.

Both seem to cutesy to be grown up names to be but Kit as a nn for Christopher might work since he could go by his full name when he grew up. I knew a guy named Kip once and it was short for Kipling, which I don't like either. Maybe if the initials were KIP (ie Kevin Ian P.) It's a stretch but I'm having a hard time thinking of any other names...
