If you have to explain how to pronounce it, then you're doing something wrong. That 'j' is silent, right? So it shouldn't be there at all. It serves no purpose. If you want to name your child Caitlin, then name her Caitlin. Kre8tive spellings should be outlawed! Please, please think of what it would be like to actually have to go through life explaining over and over how to pronounce this mess of letters and spelling your name for people constantly because it isn't spelled correctly. No one should do that to their child!

First, you are a broken record, second, Dragon Clarinet comes here for CHARACTER NAMES. She (he?) is not naming a child. Also, click the link. Katelijne is NOT a kre8tive spelling of Caitlin. And lastly, people on this site are from all over the world, so the names that are normal in their area are probably totally different from those that are normal in yours.

I love it! But depending on the country you live in it might be a little hard to pronounce for people. My Texan husband has a hard time with Dutch names like that and he lived in the Netherlands for 7 years!
