Eve
What do you think of Eve? I like it because it's simple and not too common. I know that Eva and Evangeline are getting common but for some reason I don't think Eve will. I guess it's too simple, like Anne or Mae. I'd never call her Evie or anything she's just be Eve. My biggest concern is that the little Evies, Evas and Evangelines will get called Eve for short so that it's true popularity will stay hidden (as in Bella which is really common as a nn for Isabella, or Kate which is not common itself but it used by many as a nickname for Katelyn, Katherine, Kathleen, Katie etc). What do you think?

I much prefer Eve over Eva. While Eve is elegant in its simplicity, Eva sounds harsh and ugly. I classify Eve with Claire, Anne and those other one syllable classic names. I agree with you on Eve itself not being too popular, but could seem more popular due to all of the similar popular names like Eva, Evangeline, and Evelyn. I have to disagree with you on Evie. I just love Evie, and prefer Eve or Genevieve as a full name for it over Eva, Evangeline or Evelyn. But since the full names for Evie are popular I understand why you are hesitant to embrace it. That's actually why I love Effie. It's similar to Evie, but a little more off-beat.

I love the name.
You're right about the simplicity of the name but it's very pretty
My baby cousin is Eve Rose.

I think its lovely. I also like its sweet simplicity. I don't find Evangeline & Eva THAT common yet that it would cause a huge concern if you call her Evie for short.

I too like Eve. It just goes to show that the reason I don't like Anne is NOT that it's short and simple, because Eve is short and simple also, and I like it. I don't see a lot of Evas being called Eve for short, but I can see some Evangelines being called so. If you want to avoid a popular name, that might be a problem with Eve. Still, it's a great underused name.

I really like Eve, too. I don't see is being that popular as a nn either. People are much more likely to use Evie, imo.
