I've long fancied this spelling over Celine. I don't know why you'd think it was less substantial than Judith and Miriam - because it's not biblical?

Selene is more ethereal, while Miriam and Judith are more solid.
I think it has more to do with associations. Selene brings to mind a princess, while Miriam and Judith bring to mind working women (literary associations.)
