Just the way it looks on a page is very pretty, it kind of evokes willowy and isle. Lloyd Alexander, the author of the book, used this pronunciation: eye-LAHN-wee.Personally I guessed that the emphasis would be on the first syllable: EYE-lahn-weeI rather like how LI-on-wee sounds, but that really requires transposing letters from Eil to Lie, which is just too confusing. If you like the Welsh double-L you could rework it as Llyonwy or Llianwy.
