Cymbeline for a girl?
I've just fallen in love with the name Cymbeline, but only for a girl. Not to diss Shakespeare’s name choice, but to me Cymbeline doesn't sound masculine at all, and I usually dislike people using boy's names on girls. -Line endings are feminine in English and French, after all. I adore the sound of Cymbeline (reminds me of cymbals!), and anything else that ends with -line, like Ottoline, Rosaline, Evangeline. So, could Cymbeline work for a girl?

I asked this very same thing a long time ago.And the overwhelming responce is that, well, it's ignorant to do so. Because it's Shakespeare. Unless you want constant reminder of that, I'd stay away from it and try to like it on a boy.

I've never liked how it's so close to cymbal. Even though I don't usually care for Celtic spelling, I do like Cunobelin.

NoOk, the -ine ending is feminine-sounding, but there are some other male names, like Constantine and Augustine, that are also male. It's the anglicization of the Latin -inus. Cymbeline is a male character, full stop. For me, this is like wanting to use Hamlet or Lear on a girl.
