I'm really curious what you think about my name?
I used to hate it and even made my entire family and friends call me by my middle name, Celestyna. I thought that it was more beautiful and mature... I think I was about 12 at that time... But now it has grown on me and I really love it. Only thing that bothers me is that people keep misprouncing it or even call me Joanne or Joannie.
I know it's kinda odd to ask about my own name but I'm really looking forward to your opinions!

I love it. I work with a girl from Poland named Joanna. I used to not like the name when I was younger, but I really appreciate it now.

I like Joanna a lot, much more than Joanne. I think it's refreshing in a sea of Laurens or Allisons or Megans or Jessicas (I assume they're in your age group). Several years ago, I met a little girl named Joanna and the name really suited her. Perhaps the reason you get called Joanne or Joannie is because they're more common than Joanna. This little girl I met several years ago was the only one I've ever known.

It's a contender for my future daughter's name (well, should I ever have one). I like it. I think it's feminine without having too many ruffles and bows.

It's not among my top favourites, but it's in the next tier down from them. It's quite a posh name here (I'm in the UK, not sure where you are), and much more elegant and classic than Joanne. There are two rather lovely UK actresses called Joanna - Lumley and David.
They are middle-aged (Joanna David is Emilia Fox's mum), but I know a Joanna in her early 20s. She's known as Jo, which I'm not fond of - I see Jo as short for Josephine (a name I dislike) and think Joanna is too beautiful to be shortened to it.
I don't see it much in the BAs, but it's timeless and I would consider using it.
In Cockney rhyming slang "the old Joanna" means "piano"!

How could someone mispronounce Joanna?
It's my name too. Fine, fine, Giovanna isn't exactly the same thing, but it's close enough. I didn't like it much when I was younger because it was different and nobody could say the beginning correctly. My mother used to tell people that my name was Joanna with a V in it. That didn't work. (With my newly employed nickname, Gianna, I tell people that it's John with an ah at the end. This works a lot of the time, but some people still don't get it.)
Now that I am a bit older, I can appreciate it more. Of course, the realization about two years ago that my name actually does have nicknames helped a lot.
I like Joanna just as I like most versions of John. It isn't one of my absolute favorites (I like Joanne and Joan more), but it's a good, solid name.

I'm not particularly fond of it but think it's alright. I prefer Johanna, though.
