Gah, I typed BREED without thinking, sorry. I've always thought the most authentic pronunciation was more like the word bride.
For a two syllable pronunciation, I'd stick with Bridget.

I prefer Brígh ('bree'), simply because Brighid/Brigid sounds like 'breed'.
It's pronounced BRIED, which is what this site says too. Like the word bride. Not BREED. I like it, and prefer the spelling Brighid.
The website says it's pron. is BRIED, not BREED. I say BRIED too. I like it, but prefer Brigitta
