WDYTO Lorelei?
General impressions? Do you consider it a frilly name? Does it sound too light and flippant?

Lorelei is lovely. I don't think it sounds frilly. It's a strong name yet it still sounds feminine.

I love this name. I am considering using it for a daughter. My finance is from Argentina and he also loves this name. Plus, his name is Ariel so the mermaid theme fits fine for us :)

I like it, but my fiance HATES it. This is one of the few names I've tossed at him that he had a passionate opinion for. He just vetoed it right off the bat, saying it was a "fluffy mermaid name." Heh-heh.I still think it's pretty, though, if that helps.

It sounds nice, but it does seem a bit too frilly and light. I'm reminded of Lorelei Lee in "Gentlement Prefer Blondes", or of the Rhine mermaid legend.

It's very pretty - seductive even! - but I think it might be too attached to legend to make it usable.

There are three characters on Gilmore Girls named Lorelei, which I'd think of first. Lorelei, Rory (yes, Lorelei named her daughter after herself), and Gran- all are Lorelei Gilmore.
