Re: Autumn

I'm not really crazy about it. I don't absolutely hate it, because I do think it has a certain charm. But I don't really think that "autumn" is an attractive word, so therefore how can I think it's an attractive name?
I don't think it's too common, yet. I have no idea if it will rise further on the charts, stagnate, or fall. I wouldn't say it's trendy yet. Your question about whether it's tacky brings to mind an anecdote the young couple next door told me. When the wife was pregnant, she suggested Autumn to her husband. He immediately began to pantomime a stripper strutting down the runway. A stripper is the first thing that came to his mind. Being the sometimes tactless person that I can be, I told him that I didn't think Autumn was any more stripperish than the name they did eventually choose, Heather. He then admitted that he thought Heather is a stripper name, too! What..huh? That's what he named his daughter!
But, no, I don't think it's tacky. I know one three-year-old Autumn. She's the daughter of my son-in-law's brother.
