I must confess that although I am not a fan of most masculine nicknames on girls, I myself have two. My grandfather calls me Gianni (Sounds more or less like Johnny) and my friends in high school called me Gio.
To me, masculine nicknames as feminine nicknames are generally more acceptable for girls if the ending is a long e (Like Freddie for Winfred or Gianni for Giovanna) or something like that.
