I have associations for both, so Ada makes me think of Ada McGrath from The Piano: a serious, dark-haired woman whose passions run deep. Clara makes me think of The Nutcracker. It's a daintier name, perhaps blonde, blue-eyed, and sweet.
Not what you're asking, but I love both names, especially Ada. I don't get why it's not more popular than it is. With names like Ava and Jada near the top of the charts, Ada seems like it should be a huge hit, but it's not. Undiscovered gem, I guess.

I don't know if you mean them this way, but awwwwww! Ada and Clara would be adorable for sisters.
Anyway, I love them both. Ada has such a gentle, sweet, Southern Belle feel. And Clara does too, although it's a little stronger and is more pioneer girl.
