Pronunciation of Caitlin?
I adore the spelling of this name and know that its almost always pronounced like Kate-lyn but do you think it would still be do-able to use this name and pronounce it Cat-lin, which I believe is slightly more authentic? What do you think?

Caitlín is pronounced "KAHT-leen".
In the US at least, everyone would say it like Kate + Lynn. But if you want to pronounce it KAT-lin or KAT-leen or whatever, you'll just have to be prepared to tell everyone. But once they hear it, that's what they'll say.
I think Caitlin has two widely accepted pronunciations: the English KAYT-lin and the authentic Irish KAHT-leen. KAT-lin is pretty far away from both, and I have my doubts anyone would ever get it right. IMO, that would get very aggravating.
If KAT-lin is what you want, I think I'd drop the i and spell it Catlin. I also found Katlyn here in the database, but (judging by the comments) even people whose name this is can't agree on how it's pronounced.

However you want
Seeing as you're using the name, I think it's appropriate to pronounce it as you wish

It would be annoying having to correct everyone, and it would seem kind of like the "Fr-ON-ken-stEEn" gag in Young Frankenstien, very pretentious. I think Cat-lin sounds nicer that Kate-lin, though.
