Dilys
Came across this the other day. WDYTO Dilys for a girl? Too old lady-ish? I don't like it that much.

It sounds made up to me- a combination of Phyllis and any name that starts with d.
I read a book as a child, and the snobby rich girl was called Dilys. She used to wear the frilliest and most expensive dress, so the girls called her Frilly Dilys. That image has never left me.
I don't think it sounds very pretty either, but she would definitely be the only one.

I think it's pretty much fallen out of use.
Delyth strikes me as softer and prettier.

while trying to pronounce this phonetically like most people who read it would I think of 'Phyllis Diller' smooshed together, or Dill-like a pickle and A**-like the curse word for bum.
It really reminds me of dialysis.
