Clare and Aaron
I know it's really sad of me, and maybe I've just been watching too many episodes of Lost, but I've recently fallen in love with the name Clare. So I'm just curious as to what you all think:
1. Do you like it? Would you think of using it?
2. What sort of personality do you think someone with the name Clare would have? What might she look like?
3. Which spelling do you prefer - Clare or Claire?
4. Any suggestions for middle (or first) names that go with it? (The only ones I can think of are Clare Louise and Clare Ruth, neither of which I'm sure about)
Also, what do you think of the name Aaron (pr A-ron)? It's kind of growing on me but it still carries 'chav' connotations where I live. Again, just wondering...
'If I love you, what business is it of yours?'

I like Claire. It's short and sweet. Obviously, I prefer Claire. I think Clare was originally a man's name, and Claire is the feminine version.
When I think of Claire, I think pretty brunette, fairly feminine and stylish.
Aaron is okay, too. I know alot of them, though.
I would not use either name. They're nice, but they don't strike me.

Well, I have a cousin Claire Louise and a niece Clare Siobhan. And another niece Erin (Cathleen.)
I like Claire, Clare and Aaron. My sister used the Clare spelling because her mother in law is from County Clare. Claire is the French spelling. I slightly prefer Clare, but it's pretty close.
Claire Adele
Claire Anais
Claire Elisabeth
Claire Gisele
Claire Isabelle
Clare Aisling
Clare Eileen
Clare Fiona / Finola
Clare Mairead
Clare Isolde
Aaron Thomas
Aaron Peter
Aaron David
Aaron Nathaniel
Aaron Gabriel
Aaron Isaac (two names with a double aa, not easy to do)
Aaron Daniel
If you aren't set on Aaron yet, you might want to consider Adam. It sounds fresher to my ears.

Clare!!!!!!
Now that I've abused the exclamation point, allow me to explain.
Growing up, I had an "adopted second mother," basically my friend Gene's mom, who bore this name. They were my other family.
I love the name, only spelled Clare, though. Her mn was Nancy, and although she hated it, I think it flows well.
I think Clare would be a nice mn with my fave names, Allegra or Stella.
:)

Clare!!!!!! and a reply to Tibby in One.
Allegra Clare is awesome. Love both names. I also only like Clare spelt this way. All the Clare's I know have had different personalities but have ultimately been great people.
I think Clare Louise is nice.
I know a Clare Marie.
Some combos: Clare Amelia, Clare Olivia, Clare Jasmine, Jocelyn Clare, Clare Amabel (Clare Annabel), Clare Siobhan, Clare Imogen, Clare Decima, Eleanor Clare, Clare Helena, Marjorie Clare, Clare Mathilde, Jacqueline Clare.

My husband and I love the name Claire. In fact today is my due date, but no baby yet, and the name we have picked out if it is a girl is Claire Nicole. Other middle names we considered: Claire Elise, Claire Alexis, and Claire Isabel. Elizabeth was too long to use with our last name. As you can see we prefer Claire to Clare because I think it is the more common and recognized spelling at least where we live, and I think it is a pretty spelling. As for the personality, I guess it is hard for me to stereotype or place a certain personlity with a name. (My name is Katie and I don't think that every Katie has a similar personality to mine.) I think that whatever personality our baby girl has will match the name Claire, because a name is just a name and the personality has already started developing. I imagine or hope that our little girl would have a sweet and caring personality and be intelligent and independent as she grows up. I think a Claire could be dark haired and dark eyed as ours may be or blond haired and blue eyed or anything other combination of looks and the name can be fitting. I do think the name Claire is a very cute name that will also sound very age appropriate through adulthood. I hope this helps you out some. Sorry I really don't feel like I was much help in the looks and personality; I'll let you know if we have a girl what our little Claire is like. Good luck with your decisions.
Congratulations!
Claire Nicole is lovely, and I really like Clare Isabel (or Isabelle) and Clare Elizabeth. I've been looking for a fn for Isabelle for ages.
Keep us posted!

1. Do you like it? Would you think of using it?
I do like it, and I could definitely see using it, or Clara to honor my Grandmother.
2. What sort of personality do you think someone with the name Clare would have? What might she look like?
I can't really say on this one, everyone is different.
3. Which spelling do you prefer - Clare or Claire?
I prefer Claire
4. Any suggestions for middle (or first) names that go with it? (The only ones I can think of are Clare Louise and Clare Ruth, neither of which I'm sure about)
I like Clare Ruth, but then again Claire Ruth has appeared on my list many times before ; ) Louise is nms and seems a tad bit off with Clare imo.
Some suggestions:
Clare Sofia
Clare Lilia
Clare Helena
Clare Maeve
Clare Eleanor
I automatically want to put Clare Belle, since my Grandmother's name is Clara Belle : )
Aaron is nmsaa

I like Clare Elanor out of your choices (not exactly the same spelling, but Elanor is one of my favourite girl names). Maeve is nice too.

1. No I don't like it, so I wouldn't think of using it.
2. Reminds me of the Cosby Show so a strong-willed, pretty, determind, classy, black lady lawyer.
3. Claire looks nicer but I perfer Clara.
4. Claire Madeline, Claire Rosalind. It's better as a middle name. Madeline Claire, Rosalind Claire, Ella Claire.
Aaron is very strong and manly. Biblical but trendy enough for today. I like it for a boy not a girl. But Erin has about the same sound and is so pretty for a girl! :)

1. Clare is, I think, a very pretty name for a female. It sounds really sophisticated.
2. I've always thought of Clare as a blonde-haired, extremely tall female with a kind personality. For some reason, I always pictured a Clare as to having lots of cats, too.
3. To me, the spelling doesn't matter, though I do prefer Clare, just because Claire is French and I'm not French, and because there are more saints named Clare than Claire.
4. There are not that many good middle names for Clare. The only ones I can think of are Clare Jane, Clare Catherine, Clare Rose, and Clare Justina. It works quite well as a middle name, though: Jessica Clare, Christina Clare, Madison Clare, etc., etc.
Aaron, on the other hand, is a strong name. It is very masculine and Biblical, but not so old fashioned that he would be made fun of. There's even a St. Aaron!
**Elvis Presley's middle name was Aron, which is a form of Aaron.
