Libby
I'm thinking about making Libby a character in a story. What other full names, besides Elizabeth, would it be a good nn for? Also, does anybody know when Libby started to be commonly used?

Libby always makes me think of canned pasta, so I'm glad it's just a character name.Maybe could go w/ Olivia.

I really like it. No idea when it got common, but it could work as a nn for Liberty (my faavorite full name for it), Libena and Liouba.

I've heard Libby used as a nickname for Elizabeth and more recently Liberty (which is one of my recent favorites).

Libby's cute, though I prefer the severely underused Bess as a nickname for Elizabeth.

It's a bit of a stretch, but perhaps Sibylla / Sybilla or Sibyl?

Liberty? I think Liberty nn Libby is really cute. I like Libby but dislike Elizabeth. I think it's difficult to say because most people don't use it as a full name. I guess ever since Elizabeth has been used. There were only few names that were used in the Middle Ages, for example, so people were creative with nicknames.

Libby is very nice but the only fullname, besides Elizabeth, i could think of is maybe Liberty?

The only one I can think of is Liberty.I'm not sure when it first began to be commonly used, but it was ranked in the top 1000 often in the late 1800s, so if was that commonly used as a full name, I'm sure it was even more commonly used as a nickname.

There is a Libby in my school, but it is her real name. All I can think of is Abigail and Liberty.
